Vliv vitamínů rozpustných v tucích na reprodukci mléčného skotu
Jandová, Romana
Abstract Fertility is an important factor in dairy cattle breeding. Temperature stress, lack of food, insufficient amount of vitamins and minerals in the ration or diseases can have a negative effect on it. As stated in this work, fertility is mainly influenced by the content of fat-soluble vitamins, especially vitamin E. Many authors describe its beneficial effect on spermatogenesis in males, while in females it helps maintain the fetus or ensures a suitable environment in the uterus. Vitamin E deficiency causes delayed sexual maturity and low libido of bulls. In females, keratinization of the epithelium or absorption of a non-prosperous fetus. I work as an insemination technician. In my work, I described the influence of fat-soluble vitamins on fertility. At the same, in the chapter "Personal experience" I described the effect of the addition of a preparation with protected fats and the addition of a vitamin supplement on the fertility of dairy cows. From the results of my monitoring, it follows that these preparations had a beneficial effect on fertility. Thanks to the protected fats, there was also a better absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E) and thus a lower incidence of cysts and a higher percentage of pregnant cows after insemination.
"Eating for Two": Pregnant Women's Perceptions of the Body and the Fetus, and Their Eating Habits
Rutová, Simona ; Hrešanová, Ema (advisor) ; Grygar, Jakub (referee)
Pregnancy is currently a highly monitored condition, and also, as a result of the strong discourse of healthy lifestyle, certain demands are placed on a pregnant woman's diet. However, the topic appears also in culturally framed advice and expectations, which often contradict the medical community's directions. With this work, for which my main question is how the perception of the body and fetus affects a woman's diet during pregnancy, I aimed to enrich this discussion with the perspective of pregnant women and their perception of the needs and tastes of their body and fetus. I base this work on authors such as Merleau-Ponty, Young and Bourdieu, and on data from 15 semi-structured interviews supplemented by 5 diaries kept during pregnancy. My research shows that pregnant women perceive their body and the fetus as actors that influence their eating, because through tastes, nausea or movement they perceive the communicated needs of the body and the fetus. The influence of eating and the perception of the body and the fetus, however, turned out to be mutual, because eating also has a significant influence on how women perceived and communicated with her body and fetus and perceived its individuality. With this research I therefore expand the current understanding of pregnant embodiment, medical...
Specifics of emergencies in gynecology and obstetrics
PUPÍKOVÁ, Lenka
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic "Specifics of emergencies in gynecology and obstetrics". It concists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In theoretical part, we provide information on individual emergencies in gynecology and obstetrics. We deal at emergencies, how they manifest, what the risk factors may be and what treatment is in pre-hospital emergency care. In gynecological emergencies we discuss emergencies such as ectopic pregnancy, adnexal torsion, ovarian cyst rupture, endometriosis, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, pelvic inflammatory disease and pathological gynecological bleeding. In obstetrics we describe hypertensive conditions in pregnancy, preeclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, abortive birth, breech birth, umbilical cord prolapse, placental abruption, placenta previa, amniotic fluid embolism, postpartum hemorrhage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation of pregnant women. In the practical part, we present information collected from interviews with paramedics. The information collected was analysed and divided into 11 categories. The goal of thesis was - 1. To map individual emergencies in gynecology and obstetrics. 2. To map the procedures of paramedics in gynecology and obstetrics emergencies. We believe that we have succeeded in meeting our goals. The results of the research can be used to create recommended procedures in gynecological and obstetrics emergencies.
Prevention of Postoperative Complications in Women after Caesarean Section
MUNKOVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis deals with the prevention of postoperative complications in women after caesarean section. The thesis was divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis explains the problems of caesarean section and its definition, history, indications, surgical techniques and types of anaesthesia that could be used during this operation. Last but not least, the thesis focuses on possible postoperative complications associated with caesarean section and on preventive steps for postoperative complications. At the same time, the theoretical part deals with the care provided by the midwife to the woman before, during and after the procedure. The aim of the qualitative research part was to find out what is the prevention of post-operative complications in a woman after caesarean section. One research question was set and that was: what care midwives provide to women after caesarean section in the prevention of post-operative complications. The data collection was done during the month of February and March 2023. Two research sets were set. The first research set was midwives working in the six-week care unit, providing care to women after caesarean section. The second research set was women who had a history of but-at least one caesarean section. Midwives PA1-PA9 and women I1-I8 agreed to provide a semi-structured interview. In the semi-structured interview, midwives were asked a total of 10 questions regarding the preventive measures they provide to women in their post-operative care. Women were asked 15 questions and were asked about their experiences of the post-operative care provided. After the interviews were transcribed verbatim, they were analysed by colouring the text. The midwives' and women's responses were coded and the main categories and their sub-categories emerged from the data analysis. The categories of midwives' data were titled: Care of the woman after SC and Postoperative complications. The women's data categories were called: Pre-operative phase, Post-operative phase, and Care provided. The research findings revealed that midwives working in the six-week care unit care for the woman after surgery by monitoring her health status to prevent postoperative complications along with education. As part of their continuing education, they regularly attend seminars on the prevention of post-operative complications and the care to be given to women after a caesarean section. This bachelor thesis could provide midwifery students with inspiration to improve the quality of care provided to the woman. Despite the significant positives of the results obtained, the research part also revealed shortcomings in the care provided after caesarean section. The shortcomings were mainly found in ineffective communication between the midwife and the woman, as well as inadequate education.
Rhythmic function of placenta and the impact of disruption in maternal-placental-fetal axis
Světlíková, Nela ; Sumová, Alena (advisor) ; Pačesová, Dominika (referee)
In mammals, the circadian rhythms result of a complex endogenous system consisting of hierarchically organized oscillators. The system enables the synchronization of the organism's internal processes with the external environment. It consists of the main component, the central clock, located in the suprachiasmatic nuclei in the hypothalamus, and peripheral clocks in other cells, tissues and organs. The placenta is a temporary, specialized mammalian organ that is part of the mother-placenta-fetus axis and exhibits rhythmicity in its functions. The aim of this thesis is to summarize the rhythmic functions of the placenta, such as immunity, protection, and production of hormones and other mediators that play an important role in fetal development and pregnancy. In addition, the thesis also describes rhythmic changes, that occur during pregnancy in the mother-placenta-fetus axis and how these rhythms influence each other. Keywords Placenta, circadian clock, ontogenesis, fetus, maternal synchronization, hormones, enzymes, immunity
Animal Models of Intrauterine Infections
Schuma, Marek ; Šplíchalová, Alla (advisor) ; Seifertová, Eva (referee)
In mammals, embryonic and fetal development takes place in the mother's uterus under sterile conditions. The embryo, and later the fetus, is connected to the placenta by the umbilical cord and floats in amniotic fluid in the amniotic cavity lined by the amniotic membrane. Preterm birth is associated with decreased weight of newborns and increased morbidity and mortality. Intrauterine infections are one of the leading causes of preterm delivery. Various etiological agents, such as viruses, bacteria, yeasts and protozoa, can cause these infections. These infections induce expression of inflammatory mediators, which participate in triggering of preterm birth. One of these mediators are cytokines. The bachelor thesis is based on a literature review dealing with animal models of prenatal infections, which are exploited in the study of regulatory mechanisms of preterm births or eventually in the study of experimental manipulation of these mechanisms. Various infectious agents and their parts, such as LPS, and the routes of administration are compared. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of different animal models are discussed with respect to the type of placentation, duration of gestation, animal weight and litter size. The thesis contains the section dealing with experience with a pig model...
Women opinions about the risks of alcohol and tabacco during pregnancy
Křehotová, Eva ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with women's views on the risks of alcohol and tobacco use in pregnancy. The theoretical part consists of three segments, which are closely related. The first section focuses on the course of pregnancy. It deals with a detailed description of individual trimesters up to childbirth. The second section focuses on alcohol and the third segment on tobacco use. These segments deal with statistics, characteristics, history, effects, and especially the impact of the addictive substances mentioned above on the development of the fetus and the subsequent health of the child. The practical part is based on a research survey, which took place in the form of a questionnaire. The practical part interprets the results of the questionnaire survey, which are shown in the form of pie and bar graphs. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out the views of women on the risks of usage of alcohol and tobacco in pregnancy. The constituent objectives focus on the opinions of the interviewed women regarding information sources, prevention, and the level of awareness of the female population and the respondents themselves about the risks of alcohol and tobacco use in pregnancy. The research found that more than 3/4 of women surveyed do not agree with alcohol and tobacco use during...
The effect of maternal smoking on the homeostasis of the fetoplacental unit
Adamcová, Karolína ; Pařízek, Antonín (advisor) ; Miovský, Michal (referee) ; Procházka, Martin (referee)
Maternal smoking causes serious health danger for a mother but especially for a baby. Cigarette smoking produces complex steroidogenesis changes during the whole life of a woman. To study the influence of smoking on fetoplacental unit focusing on steroid hormons it was important first to concentrate on changes of the chosen steroids around the delivery. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to observe some chosen steroid hormons in peripartal period (37th week of the pregnancy, first stage of labor of mothers and mixed umbilical blood of their neonates) and to look for relations to the age of mother, the increase of the weight during the pregnancy, the type of the delivery and the sex of the baby. It was interesting to compare steroids in the relation to the type of the delivery: vaginal delivery versus planned caesarean section. Non-smoking women who delivered a boy spontaneously had significantly higher level of 17-OH-pregnenolone, progesterone, cortisol, corticosterone and significantly lower level of estradiol in comparison with non-smoking women who delivered a boy by a planned Caesarean section. In the maternal blood in the 37th week of the pregnancy there were found differences between steroids in accordance to the sex of the fetus but they were not found in the neonates' case. The age...
Healthy nutrition and sport during pregnancy
Piklová, Lenka ; Starnovská, Tamara (advisor) ; Coufalová, Klára (referee)
Pregnancy is a period in a woman's life that fundamentally changes life of hers, of her partner and even of her whole family, because by the delivery a new individual is born. Naturally, the process of its development and growth is carried out via its mother, who usually carries it in her body for nine months, and during this period and even before conception, the individual's development is strongly influenced by mother's lifestyle. Healthy lifestyle, meaning primarily varied and balanced diet and adequate physical activity, can not only prevent countless malformations of the fetus, but also favourably affect the course of pregnancy itself and subsequent mother's rehabilitation after delivery. This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of nutrition and sport on pregnancy and fetal development. It is divided into a theoretical part which summarizes the theoretical knowledge of this issue, and a practical part where research on this topic is elaborated. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. The first of them deals with pregnancy itself, i.e. the individual's development, pregnancy changes in the mother's body and parenting in general. The second chapter discusses preconceptual nutrition and nutrition during pregnancy, including energy requirements, individual macronutrients...
